Our purpose
Long URLs are useful but can be awkward to type, print, or place in a profile. UrlShorter provides a smaller sharing address while leaving the destination website responsible for its content. Our goal is to make that workflow understandable and useful without overstating what a short link can do.
What the service provides today

- Managed-link activity through click totals and recent activity in an account dashboard.
- QR downloads for short links through the QR code generator.

- A documented guest-link endpoint for programmatic creation in the product documentation.
Project and maintenance model
UrlShorter is maintained under the UrlShorter product name. For questions about service ownership, support or the handling of your content, use the contact form below and include the relevant page or short URL.
Maintenance work covers three areas:
- Product engineering maintains the application, redirects, account controls, public-page renderer, and operational safeguards.
- Editorial maintenance reviews product copy, documentation, and educational articles against the behavior represented by the current application.
- Support and trust review handles recorded contact requests and abuse cases through the published support channels and administrator queues.

Engineering and safety boundaries
Submitted destinations must use a supported public HTTP or HTTPS URL. The service rejects malformed addresses and explicit local, private, or reserved network addresses and hostnames. These checks reduce some risks, but they cannot guarantee that an external page is safe, legal, accurate, or unchanged after a link is created.
Anyone who receives a short URL may be able to open it, so a short link is not access control. Suspected phishing, malware, spam, impersonation, or other harmful use should be submitted through the dedicated abuse form.
Current defensive controls include signed, HttpOnly ownership and session cookies, server-side authorization checks, destination validation, rate limits, hashed network identifiers in selected operational records, and optional Turnstile and URL-reputation checks when the operator configures them. These are practical safeguards, not a claim of formal certification, independent audit, or perfect abuse detection.
Editorial standards and corrections
Product pages should describe capabilities that are available and documented. UrlShorter does not currently offer custom domains, shared team administration, white-label workspaces, user-selected expiration, geography reports, built-in event RSVP collection, guest-list management, or calendar synchronization. Referrer and device summaries are limited to signals available in redirect requests. The FAQ and product documentation explain current behavior and limits.
Educational content is intended to explain methods and trade-offs, separate general industry guidance from UrlShorter features, and cite primary technical sources where a claim benefits from verification. We do not present fabricated testimonials, performance benchmarks, or customer results as evidence. To report an inaccurate or outdated statement, include the page URL and proposed correction in the contact form.
Privacy and funding
The Privacy Policy explains information processed for redirects, accounts, link activity, abuse review, and service operation. Some eligible public content pages may display advertising where configured and permitted by the visitor's consent choice; details are in the Cookie Policy.
